County Convention - March 29th @ 1:00 pm Print E-mail
Monday, 09 August 2004
The San Juan County Republican Convention will be held at the Grange the last Saturday of March. The delegates from the caucuses, the Precinct Committee Officers, and the County leaders will gather to hammer out a new County Republican Platform. They will also elect two delegates to the State Convention at the end of May. These delegates will be voting at the state level for the delegates to send to the National Republican Convention (in Minneapolis) who will elect the Republican candidate for the President of the United States. The state convention is always an exciting time with a lot of different issues coming up to discuss and vote on for the state platform. While the state platform is important and will contain many of the things that islanders are concerned about, the county retains the county platform as their statement of what local Republicans stand for, and is therefore an important document for careful consideration. The Platform Committee is currently working to gather all information from the caucuses to form it into a presentable form for consideration at the county convention. It will be emailed or mailed to all delegates and PCOs, as soon as it is prepared, for their perusal prior to the convention so they may come wellinformed and with prepared statements or comments on its contents.

All Republicans are welcome to observe the proceedings at the Republican County Convention.
