Voting for the Future!
Finally!!! We have the opportunity to vote in some people who will truly look out for America! For so long we have had people who have only looked out for themselves. Finally, we have the chance to elect statesmen who understand the role of government: to serve the people, not to order the people around with tons of rules and regulations paid for by the heavy burden of taxes.
Voting Record of Our Current Representative!
How has our current representative voted? A good way to get through the rhetoric and find a valuable tool for deciding if a politician is worth re-electing is to see what legislation he has voted for or against. So here are some of the recorded votes:
Rep. Rick Larsen:
*Voted for off-shore drilling 100 miles out, but against drilling 25 miles out (where the oil is) with the state’s permission. Voted against drilling in the oil rich Gulf of Mexico. (HR 6899)
*Voted to spend $15 billion to help non-profits buy homes to put up for sale to keep housing prices up out of reach of middle income people, but making them available for qualifying low income people with your federal dollars’ help. (HR 5818)
* Voted to raise the National Debt limit from ….
Ranker Arrested?
Current Councilman Kevin Ranker was arrested for disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and interfering with a public event. While this did happen 13 years ago in 1995, it puts into perspective the type of work he did when he states he has “more than 15 years experience working to protect natural resources and build healthy coastal communities.” Starting to sound like a “community organizer” which is a code name for rebel in the process of picking fights, Ranker was protesting the jailing of convicted cop killer Mumia Abu-Jamal, demanding a new trial for the Black Panther member. Ferry Checks Working
According to an article in a San Diego paper, over 49 illegal aliens have been arrested by the Border Patrol and face deportation. Many others are remaining on the islands, fearing to leave because of the ferry checks.
While no one is against new legal immigrants from coming and working in the San Juans, it is impossible to maintain a free United States as we know it, without people voluntarily ….
A New “REPUBLICAN CONTRACT WITH AMERICA” by Michael ZaK
September 27th in 1994, more than 300 Republican candidates for the U.S. House of Representatives met on the steps of the U.S. Capitol to express their support for the Contract with America. The 357 signators committed themselves to this bold agenda designed to wrest control of Congress away from the do-nothing Democrats.
Energizing the Republican base while appealing to independents, the Contract with America swept the GOP to victory. The mid-term elections gave the Republicans a majority in the U.S. House of Representatives for the first time in forty years.
