I-502: A Risky Proposition!

By November 6, 2012 the citizens of the state of Washington will be asked to vote yes/no on I-502. If passed, this initiative would legalize and tax the sale of marijuana. I will vote NO on legalizing marijuana and this is why.

1. I believe marijuana impairs function and learning and is habit forming. Marijuana is classified as a Schedule 1 drug which means it has a high potential for abuse. Risks associated with marijuana include learning and memory problems. One out of ten marijuana users become addicted (National Institute of Drug Abuse, www.drugabuse.gov) the first time they try it. The percentages increase the more it is used. After alcohol, marijuana is the highest addiction criteria for adults going into in-patient treatment in the state of Washington. It is the number one reason for youth entering the same facilities (www.dshs.wa.gov , trends in recovery) Continued

Romney wins another Debate!

Yes. You know it is true. Our next President Mitt Romney debated honestly, aggressively and with class. The lies from the Obama administration are becoming embarrassing and hard to watch. Did you yell at the TV more than once? I did.Especially afterward when fact checking revealed a  coordinated effort to stumble Governor Romney was proven false. The fact that the moderator engaged in the effort is very disturbing. We must call these attempts to deceive by name.

Did you see McKenna wipe the floor with Inslee again? Their debate last night proved McKenna the superior candidate with much more knowledge of the issues.I almost feel sorry for Inslee, but then I remember what is at stake. Shame on the Democrats for abusing their power in this state. Let’s vote the lying donkeys out.

Signs of Improvement

This email came to me this week:

Michelle,

We have quit losing signs! Last Wednesday I had had it! I called the Sheriff. We talked a long time. He said he would cruise around by my site and he also said he would talk with everyone living within sight of the signs. I called several Republican neighbors to let them know the sheriff would be around, and discussed the problem with them.

The sheriff wasted no time. The next morning, our next door neighbor, a Democrat, said the sheriff had been out and talked to them the night before. Also I’m sure he talked with the person I suspected (also closest to the signs) because I have lost no more signs after that. I doubt if he owned up to it, but at least he knows the sheriff is watching.
A victory for the first amendment.
