Call our Legislatures Today!

Income Outgoings Keys Stock ImageHave you been listening to the State Legislature’s Special Session issue’s? The main issue we are told is the budget but listen carefully. Settling the budget is being used as a bargaining tool to get other bills through this session. The Senate budget puts educational spending first, balances the budget and does not raise taxes. The Democrat majority house is holding the process hostage as they want to include many social service tax raising items. The Senate Republicans are also working to pass a workers comp measure favoring business ( when was the last time that was done?),an education measure making it harder to just move a bad teacher to a new school, and a repeal of the death tax.So lets call today!

Rep. Kristine Lytton(d) (360) 786-7800
Rep. Jeff Morris(d)360-786-7970
Sen.Kevin Ranker(d)(360) 786-7678

Ask our Representatives to pass the Senate budget, pass the workers comp measure, pass the education bill and repeal the death tax.

Senate budget prioritizes education, government reform – without new taxes

Published on June 8, 2013

Following the Senate’s passage of a $33.4 billion budget that does not rely on new taxes and invests more in education than the proposal approved by the House of Representatives this week, I released the below statement:

“For the second time this year, the bipartisan Senate coalition has passed a budget that accomplishes our top priorities: increasing investments in education, living within our means and meeting the state requirement to balance over four years. Continued

What They Do And Say

“Shorelines: Where We Live, Work, & Play.” That’s a charming little title for the recent “Friends” countywide mailer but I think there’s something fishy about it. The evidence is clear that the “Friends” don’t want people living, working, or playing, near the shoreline. They seek to control all human activity near the water while at the same time telling us how much they support it. What they say and what they do are very different. What do they say about local tourism?“Protecting our shorelines is good for our economy and our environment. Our visitors contributed over $158.5 million to our local economy last year,” said Stephanie Buffum, Executive Director of “FRIENDS” of the San Juans. It sounds like they support tourism, right?

Not really. The “Friends” have recently taken up a fight to cripple island tourism by challenging permits at a Lopez Island resort for a modest expansion (see below). Like Rosario or Roche Harbor, small-scale island resorts benefit the local economy in many ways not the least of which is bringing customers that spend money and increase the tax base.

For a business investor, spending capital to hire attorneys and other professionals to face endless challenges by the “Friends” for a simple permit reduces potential profitability and discourages investment. How is fighting this project consistent with support for tourism or local “economic development?”

Do they really care about contributions to the local economy from tourism? Not according to what they do. They have undermined the whale watch industry by supporting the closure of the west side of San Juan to all boats (including kayaks). Does this sound like they support working and playing near the shore?  Continued

Australia says NO — Second Time she has done this!
She sure isn’t backing down on her hard line stance and one has to appreciate her belief in the rights of her native countrymen.

A breath of fresh air to see someone lead.  Australian Prime Minister does it again!!

The whole world needs a leader like this!

Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia , as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks.
Separately, Gillard angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying she supported spy agencies monitoring the nation’s mosques.

Quote: ‘IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT… Take It Or Leave It.  I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture.  Since the terrorist attacks on Bali , we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians.’‘This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom.’

‘We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language.  Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, learn the language!’

‘Most Australians believe in God.  This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented.  It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools.  If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.’

‘We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why.  All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us.’ Continued

WSRP Chairman Blasts Governor Over Budget Remarks

Kirby Wilbur, Radio Personality BELLEVUE, WA – State Republican Party Chairman Kirby Wilbur blasted Governor Inslee today over remarks he made Tuesday concerning the budget stalemate in Olympia.

“The Governor has suggested that the Senate is more concerned with rich people than ‘our obligation to Washington students’. May I point out that Governor Inslee’s political party has controlled Olympia and the defunding of our education system for over thirty years?

“The Majority Coalition has proposed a budget which does meet those obligations without raising the tax burden on Washington’s struggling middle class families. It is the Governor and the Democrats who refuse to accept that budget and insist not only on raising taxes, but pushing through non-budget related bills which couldn’t pass during the regular session.
