As you probably know, Governor Inslee surprised everyone this week by declaring a moratorium on capital punishment in our state for as long as he’s in office. Many of us have concerns about this decision, including the pain it is causing victims’ families. The timing was poor too, as state lawmakers are in the middle of the legislative session trying to address the issues that people care about most. The governor’s action was a distraction from these priorities.

Pray for our country’s future. The local Progressive Democrat movement is an example of developing more freebies for votes.We need hard work and morals to be rewarded in our society.Progressive ideas of big government control does not provide the freedoms our founding fathers intended.Please look at the recent history of Greece.Let’s not go there.Thank you submitting this article John T.-Michelle Loftus

Republicans and Democrats agree in desiring happy lives free of stress and having the unfortunate cared for.

The difference is how Republicans and Democrats want to achieve this.

Republicans want to do for themselves. Republicans want the free market to set up systems to achieve happiness in personal wealth and healthy communities including care for the needy.Let’s list successful examples:

Church Outreach and Hospitals
Service Organizations-Lions,Rotary,Kiwanas
Local Animal Shelters

Democrats want those with money to pay more taxes so the government can take care of their happiness and the needs of the unfortunate. Such comes with restrictive regulations on how, when and where you can be happy.Let’s list where this approach has failed:
Postal System
Amtrack
Medicaid
Social Security
Obamacare
Public Schools in general are caught in a quagmire of government regulations that require so much administration that direct education costs are second to running the organization.God bless those dedicated good teachers caught in the middle.
