(we received this update on 6/30/17 and felt it was worth posting. The candidate’s website is here. — Nathan Butler)
As I said yesterday, the attacks against me are coming. They are coming fast and they couldn’t be farther from the truth. The opponent recently sent an email bragging about an endorsement from the hyper-partisan DailyKos news blog, quoting them: “It all comes down to one seat: If Democrats can win … [they] gain control of the entire state government, opening the door for all kinds of progressive legislation.”Wow! I could not have said it more clearly. If the opponent wins, it means a green light to a state income tax, capital gains tax, and more spending and regulation.I am running to improve the lives of people on the Eastside by focusing on solving real problems. Unlike the opponent, I don’t have an ideological agenda.Going door to door, and I’ve personally visited 3,100 to date, people in our district are telling me that this election is about saying NO to an income tax, reducing traffic congestion, correcting the car tab prices, honest leadership and pragmatic governing.Today is the end of the month, which means we have another fundraising deadline. The primary is right around the corner and we need your help to overcome the negativity with our positive ads over the next 30 days. Help us make this month a strong one by donating online today! It is with your help that we will be the change we all want to see in politics and get our positive message to every single voter in our district.Thank you so much and see you on the campaign trail!JinyoungP.S. Please consider donating before midnight tonight for our June fundraising report. Every dollar helps and counts. This will help us have enough resources to get our message out to EVERY voter in our district in the last 30 days before the primary.

May 19-20, the WA State Republican Party (WSRP) central committee met. Each county sends a state committeeman, a state committeewoman, and usually a chairman to meet together once a quarter. I typically send Vice-chair Lynda Gerpheide in my place. Following is Statecommiteewoman Cindy Carter’s report:
“I did get a lot of information at the state meeting, and it is so good to be in a large company of Republicans…it always lifts my spirits…
There was a budget report also, it was amazing in that Susan Hutchinson and the WSRP are way above budget for fundraising, and will have funding available to help with the race in the 45th district. We also were privileged to hear from Jinyoung Lee Englund who is an amazing person, working with campaigns and when not doing that, helping in 3rd world nations to bring clean water to the people. She is a great candidate for the 45th.
Susan and the WSRP State Committee man and woman, Jeff and Freddie, also were apparently amazing at the National meeting and someone accused them of having Washington taking over the National Committee.
There was a resolution that passed at the state committee meeting asking members of the WSRP to be active in recruiting people to sign the Initiative 1552. I-1552 is the privacy initiative asking that businesses and schools be allowed to decide how to set up their bathrooms instead of a 5 person un-elected panel making that decision for them. On a side note, after traveling down and back up the West Coast, I really miss the gender specific bathrooms. Having to use the unisex bathrooms was, well, disgusting. The gender specific bathrooms are definitely a bonus. I do have some initiatives if anyone would like to gather signatures. Signatures are due by July 1st.
Thank you!
Cindy Carter”
