WSRP: So much losing! Democrats in disarray!

posted in: WSRP | 0

This weeks update from WSRP was interesting:

To believe the dishonest liberal media, the Republican Party is on its way to extinction, hopelessly divided, and deeply unpopular.  The pro-Democrat media, still whining about losing the presidential election, constantly repeats this narrative, but even they know it is false.

And on rare occasions, even they admit the truth: it’s the Democrat Party that is in disarray, and in crisis, losing election after election.

Liberal Seattle Times columnist Danny Westneat recently wrote an opinion piece entitled “Democrats are supposed to be fighting back, but they just keep losing.”  He let the cat out of the bag: so much losing!  Westneat writes:

“[T]his past week the Democrats showed how they excel, above all, at eluding victory.  Once again they demonstrated how they’re the party that never misses an opportunity to miss an opportunity.  Somehow the Democrats lost a special election in Montana….”

Westneat asks, “Why are the Democrats … still losing?,” and cites anABC News poll that “found that 67 percent think Democrats are ‘out of touch’ with regular people.”

Exactly right!  The Democrats are out of touch with the American people, defeated and discouraged, still whining about losing in 2016, and still freaking out about GOP victories!

Let’s continue to spread the Republican message, with even more Republican victories!  To learn about our state’s GOP candidates in 2017, go to www.wsrp.org/candidates

Toward victory in 2017,

WSRP on Easter Sunday 2017

posted in: WSRP | 0

In an email on 4/14/2017 Susan Hutchison outlines the struggles of Christians in the Middle East. I lived there for some time, and yes, it’s a real problem. –Chairman Nathan Butler.

To all our friends celebrating Good Friday and Easter Sunday, we wish you a blessed holiday with family and friends.  As the Resurrection represents the victory of life over death, this year we are particularly mindful of those Christians around the world who are suffering persecution for their faith:

• In Egypt, where 45 Coptic Christians were killed in Islamic terrorist bombings on Palm Sunday, traditional festive Easter celebrations have been canceled.

• In Communist North Korea, many Christians are arrested and imprisoned in hard labor camps, where unknown numbers die from torture, beatings, and starvation.

• In Syria and the Middle East, ISIS has killed and captured Christians, forcing women and girls into slavery, torturing those who will not convert to Islam.

We yearn for and pray for a world where God’s justice and righteousness prevails.  Ultimately it will—That’s the promise of Easter.

“Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” – Matthew 5:10

Respectfully,

Susan Hutchison
Chairman, Washington State Republican Party

45th Legislative District Special Election

posted in: WSRP | 0

Some of you may be aware that the seat left by the late State Senator Andy Reid is going to have a special election. Because control of the state senate is so close, this election effectively decides which party will control the state senate. Seattle Times reports.

Following is the WSRP statement on this.

Exciting news!  Jinyoung Englund announced today that she is the GOP candidate for State Senate in the 45th Legislative District special election.  A Woodinville resident, Jinyoung is a graduate of the University of Washington, a tech entrepreneur, and the daughter of Korean immigrants.  Her husband is an active duty U.S. Marine officer with 17 years of service.

This seat was held by Andy Hill who tragically died last year of cancer.  Dino Rossi was appointed to serve during the current legislative session. Now a Republican victory is essential to keep our 25-24 Republican majority in the State Senate. Otherwise, Jay Inslee and his Democrats will get the INCOME TAX they want!

Will you help us defeat the Democrats by donating $25, $50, $100, $200 or more to help us elect Jinyoung Englund and hold onto to the GOP majority in the State Senate?

Learn more about our awesome candidate on her website or onFacebook or on Twitter

Respectfully,

Susan Hutchison

Secretary Kim Wyman on her battle with colon cancer

posted in: WSRP | 0

We received today dire news about one of our state’s only Republican Washington State office holders, Secretary of State Kim Wyman. Our sincerest prayers go out to her and her family during this difficult ordeal. Many of us have family and friends who have suffered from cancer, or ourselves struggle with it, but we recognize the special burden of coping with the high stress life of public service that Secretary Wyman must deal with in addition to her health challenges. We extend to her our most heartfelt condolences and ask all members of our county and state to pray for her.  — Chairman Nathan Butler, 3/28/2017

Statement by WSRP follows (copied from circulated email on 3/27):

Praying for Kim Wyman in her battle against colon cancer….

Our beloved friend and Secretary of State has announced today that she will be undergoing treatment for colon cancer (see her message below).  I’ve highlighted below the best news in this bad news: that this particular type of cancer is curable.

Even so, all cancer treatment is a tough battle and we hope and pray that the doctors and caregivers that surround Kim will be the most capable in their field.  Please join me in praying for her husband John, their two adult children and her devoted staff in the Secretary of State’s office who are deeply affected by this news.

Most of all, we pray that God will comfort and bless Kim through the rigors of treatment and recovery.  We put our trust in Him.

Respectfully,

Susan Hutchison

Secretary Wyman’s statement regarding her upcoming medical treatment

OLYMPIA – Washington Secretary of State Kim Wyman has a very optimistic prognosis after receiving a colon cancer diagnosis recently. She will be undergoing treatment over the next several weeks and released this statement today:

“As anyone who has gone through this situation knows, my family and I are experiencing all of the emotions that come with a cancer diagnosis, however I remain committed to my role as Secretary of State and will be able to continue performing my official duties during my treatment and recovery periods,” Wyman said.

“My doctors have told me this type of cancer is not only treatable – but curable – and I expect to make a full recovery after undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatment for several weeks.

“As has been standard practice in this office, Assistant Secretary Mark Neary will assume responsibility for day-to-day operations when I am out of the office for treatment. When appropriate, Deputy Secretary Greg Lane may represent the office on my behalf.

“I am very positive about my plan of treatment and my prognosis, and will provide periodic updates from time to time.”

Secretary Wyman has asked for privacy during this time, and any inquiries about her progress may be directed through her executive staff.
